World’s ‘Most Flattering Hairstyle’ Revealed

March 20, 2018

The ‘world’s most flattering hairstyle has been revealed’ – the ‘lob’.

The long bob, or lob, has been dubbed the best do to suit all face shapes in a report from Mintel, reported in glossy women’s weekly Hello Magazine – so if you are stuck for new hair inspo then ask your hairdresser in Clapham for a lob and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Dozens of our favourite stars of TV, film and music have already shown us that the lob rules, with Kendall Jenner, Alesha Dixon and Margot Robbie making it an iconic hairstyle for this decade.

Unlike its big sister the bob, the lob is not as blunt, softening and flattering the face with the opportunity to tease in some beach waves, or play with a sweepy fringe depending on how you like to frame your face.

Celebrity hairdresser Edward James agrees that the lob is a great hair cut for those of us who want to try something different but are a little scared to take too much off.

“The lob is huge at the moment because it offers so much flexibility,” he was quoted as saying.

“It is long enough to still wave and curl and tie back into a chignon if you want to vary your style and is a great length for wearing old-Hollywood glam styles, which is why it so incredibly popular with celebs.”

And if you are toying with the idea of a fringe but are getting cold sweats thinking about your blunt, lopsided bangs from primary school, ask your stylist for a wispy fringe like Selena Gomez, which is very flattering without being too chunky like the one your mum gave you using nail scissors and a pudding bowl in 1993.
